CP Nassau’s Casino Royale event was held on May 14 to the delight of all who attended. Westbury manor provided a beautiful setting with delicious food and open bar. There were gaming tables, ring toss to win wine and spirits, a spinning wheel with chances to win accommodations in Aruba, Wonka Bars with golden tickets for prizes and lots of fun and exciting raffles including a stay at a beautiful house in Montauk and accommodations in Aruba. The evening had a big finish with a horse (wooden) race that had the crowd cheering as if we were at Belmont!
The winner of our other Montauk raffle, which sold out even before the event, was Eileen S. and the winner of the $5,000 Century tickets was Al S., a long-time member of our Golf and Tennis Committee.

CP Nassau Executive Director, Karen Geller-Hittleman welcomed all and thanked guests for their support. Joseph Ramirez from Governor Hochul’s office joined and expressed thanks on behalf of the Governor for the important work that CP Nassau does. Everyone was enthralled with a demonstration of the MOVE (Mobility Opportunities Via Education) Program with Tiffany, a student from our school, the Children’s Learning Center assisted by staff member, Josseline Orellana.
Occupational Therapist, Jennifer Fitzgerald gave insight into the great things happening in the program and emphasized that the special equipment Tiffany was using helps her to stand and take steps. She explained that the opportunity to use the equipment daily helps make Tiffany and other students stronger, and able to spend more time out of their wheelchair. The crowd was truly in awe and all smiles, realizing the miracles that this program is making possible.
Special thanks to Event Co-Chairs, Victor Scott Jr. and Alison Scotto and to Development Manager, Mary Brosky who coordinated the event along with the Development Department. Much appreciation to the Committee members and volunteers who worked hard to make the evening a success.
Grateful to Ed Shin (Photographer), Bravo Sound, MTK Casino Parties, Shinbone Photography and Coach’s Collectibles for being part of the night.
