On Friday, October 24 a wonderful luncheon was held in the Auditorium at CP Nassau to thank and recognize the hard-working staff of direct support professionals here. The room was decorated so beautifully with fresh flowers and pretty photo back-drops, some of them featuring the “Energy Bus” theme that is promoting positive energy here at the Agency.
Executive Director, Karen Geller-Hittleman along with Assistant Executive Director, Peter Dolan attended the luncheon and expressed their thanks for the important work and dedication of the DSP staff. While everyone’s work and contributions are noticed and appreciated, the 2025 DSP Recognition Awards were presented to:
Art Bautista – Site Based Day Hab
Shari Nicholas – Community-Based Day Hab
Aury Zabala – Life Options
Doris Davis, Coordinator of the Life Options Program and Transportation Coordinator was presented with a special “You Make a Difference” award to recognize her amazing contributions over decades of service to CP Nassau and the individuals we serve and her colleagues.
Village BBQ Located at 2224 Jerusalem Avenue, North Merrick, catered the luncheon. The hot food included BBQ ribs, brisket, macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, cornbread and collard greens. Sharon Rothstein, Director of Adult Day Services commented, “Randy, the owner was so pleasant to work with. He went out of his way to accommodate our needs. All the staff raved about the food and said they would definitely be frequenting his restaurant sooner than later. We want to thank Village BBQ for helping make out staff luncheon a GREAT success!! “
DSPs in attendance enjoyed their meal and camaraderie with fellow staff in a relaxed atmosphere for awhile. DSPs were given a CP Nassau t-shirt and pen or cup, small gifts that represent a big thank and a “You are Appreciated” from the administration and all at the Agency! Thank you to all who worked hard to make this luncheon so special and festive.
