The Rico Rico Food Festival was held in the parking lot of the American Dream Mall and featured over 90 vendors offering authentic Latin cuisine, beverages, and souvenirs. There were also food and drinks from other cultures! Our Individuals had the opportunity to explore a wide variety of flavors, sampling everything from tostones, arepas, empanadas, and street corn to sugar cane juice, boba teas, Dubai chocolate-covered strawberries, bao buns, dragon fruit and lychee smoothies, and so much more.
It was a joy to see everyone trying new foods and experiences. Martin enthusiastically shared, “It was the best day ever!” Quiten said, “I want to come back again and again,” and Paul couldn’t stop smiling as he told us, “This sandwich is great!”
As the day continued, we made our way inside the American Dream Mall, where a whole new world of experiences awaited. The group enjoyed some shopping in large stores such as DSW, Eddie Bauer, and Lids, as well as a specialty store called The Lunchbox, which offers graphic tees and anime memorabilia. They even caught a glimpse of a live K-pop concert and traditional Asian dance performances taking place in the mall.
The Individuals had an amazing time in New Jersey, and by the end of the day they were already asking when the next visit will be planned! Thank you to all who worked hard to make this special day and experience a reality!
