CLC Students Visit their Friends at JFK High School in Bellmore.

There has been a very special friendship and collaboration between students from the Children’s Learning Center at CP Nassau and students form JFK High School in Bellmore.

The JFK students have been coming to CLC for the past 8 years and helping in a variety of ways.  They meet with PT and OT departments and come up with solutions to challenges faced by our students by creating inventions that solve simple, but important problems.  They help at our annual Prom, they have done special art projects and fundraise for CLC!

Yesterday about 30 CLC students spent the day with their high school buddies as hosts. They learned cheers from the cheerleading squad,  did an Irish celebration art project, they saw fun science experiments and got to eat lunch in the really cool high school cafeteria.

The experience was enjoyed by all involved and we are so very grateful to all the JFK students who do so much for the CLC students and to Ms. Barbi Frank, the wonderful teacher who established this incredible partnership and to Mr. Mike Harrington, the Bellmore-Merrick Superintendent who is so supportive of this great collaboration!
