We had a small group from our Community Based Day Hab program visit the Roosevelt Community Garden to help clean/prepare garden boxes for the upcoming season. The garden is run by the North Shore Land Alliance (NSLA) and they are generously providing a space for our CP Nassau participants to manage their very own garden box this season!
CBDH Coordinator, Jasmine Harris reports, “We will be able to plant and grow fruits & vegetables and also visit to maintain what we grow.” Participants there for the Earth Day experience were Tom, America, Jose, & Loretta joined by staffer Troy McPherson.
Andrea, the manager of North Shore Land Alliance Roosevelt Community Garden commented, “ On Friday, April 24, 2026, a group of volunteers from the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County in Roosevelt joined us in the Garden for a morning of community service, working side by side to help prepare and care for the space. Their energy and teamwork made a meaningful impact, and it was a great reminder of how the garden brings people together.”
We truly appreciate the hospitality, caring and support of the NSLA at the Roosevelt Community Garden and look forward to a season of nurturing and harvesting!
