SUMMARY:68th Annual Forget Me Not Ball
DESCRIPTION:“Forget the Dress…Forget the Tux…Forget the Sitter…Don’t Forget Us” \nWe hope this letter finds you and your families well. \nAs a result of the COVID 19 crisis and all that our communities have faced and are still facing\, a decision was made to cancel our 2020 Forget Me Not Ball. Though our Ball is always a very enjoyable event and is one of the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County’s (CP Nassau) most significant fundraisers\, we felt it was the right and necessary decision to make. \nWe believe that in spite of many uncertainties\, CP Nassau has been a stable supporter of children and adults with disabilities and their families for over 70 years. The Forget Me Not Ball is a vital fundraiser for CP Nassau and with its cancellation; we know the Agency needs our support more than ever. We encourage you to help CP Nassau continue its vital services by making a donation or supporting our Century Raffle by purchasing a $100 ticket. Only 300 tickets will be sold and there will be 2 winners: $7\,500 & $2\,500. Any help would be appreciated. CP Nassau plans on coming out of the other end of the Covid-19 crisis stronger and more dedicated to those they serve. \nWe encourage you to take a look at the CP Nassau website at www.cpnassau.org and the CP Nassau Facebook page to see a myriad of stories of the COVID 19 experience for the Agency. We received a lot of positive media attention\, many generous and caring members of the community came forward to help with PPEs and other donations and our staff worked hard to accomplish great things while keeping our participants safe and well cared for. \nWe thank you in advance for your support. You can utilize the following link to see how you can support our efforts: http://www.cpnassau.org/event/ball2020 . Once there\, you can purchase a Century Raffle ticket and/or make a donation. \nWe have rescheduled the Ball date to October 30\, 2021\, and we hope you will once again support this incredible event. \nWe wish you and your family well. \nWith thanks\,\nThe Forget Me Not Ball Committee

SUMMARY:4th Annual CP Nassau 5K
DESCRIPTION:We are all in this together.\nThat statement has taken on new meaning this year as we endure the COVID-19 Pandemic.  At the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County\, we have faced many difficulties and challenges.  We say proudly that “heroes work here” because thanks to the dedication\, skill and selflessness of so many staff members\, the individuals with disabilities who live in the homes we run have been kept safe and well cared for.  Teachers\, therapists and others have worked hard and innovatively to maintain long-distance learning and offer therapies via telehealth for the children and adults with developmental disabilities we serve. Our hearts are broken at the loss of some of the people we serve and co-workers as a result of the virus.  We will never forget them and the difference they made in our world. The 2020 CP Nassau 5K will be a VIRTUAL one.  It will still be great exercise\, it will be fun and it will help raise funds for CP Nassau.  These funds will help with the astronomical expenses the Agency has incurred as a result of COVID-19. \nThe CP Nassau 5K Walk\, Run\, Roll\, Stroll – “This One’s For the Heroes” – Participation Requirements\nAll participants are required to raise $200.*\nThis is not as hard as it may sound.  We actually hope you will raise more and from past experience\, lots of people do!  Once you start asking people\, they are generous!  Share\, share share on social media!  Did you know\, the average online donation is $50!  YOU can do this!\n*You have until November 5 to raise the $200.  If you don’t raise the full amount\, we will invoice you for the balance. \nYOU CAN DO THIS!  Making the first donation yourself shows others that you are on board and committed to the success of this effort.  Not only are you doing the 5K but you are personally contributing and that says a lot!  Make your personal fundraising page just that\, personal!  Include a photo and your reasons for participating.  Let your friends\, family and other connections know how important CP Nassau is to you!  Encourage these people to go to the CP Nassau website and  Facebook  pages to see how the COVID 19 crisis has challenged the Agency. Here they will see news and updates about how CP Nassau is working to maintain quality programs and services while keeping the children and adults who participate and the staff SAFE! Invite all to see media coverage of CP Nassau using these links: \nCP Nassau in the News – 2020\nNew York Times – front page article on April 8\nNews 12 LI – April 10\nBob McGuire was interviewed live on Friday\, 4/17 on Stephanie Ruhle’s 9 am ET show on MSNBC\nCBS 2 – April 11\nThomson Reuters – TRT World.
