It is an annual tradition at the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County that is very special to all the staff as departments come up with unique ideas to raise funds to provide Thanksgiving dinner for families in need. Each year we are able to raise enough money to provide our families at CP Nassau with a little extra for their Thanksgiving holiday feast.
Some examples of the various fundraisers that have been taking place this Fall at the Agency include:
Basket raffles, raffle board, chance to win a parking spot for the winter, 50/50, bake sales, pie eating contest, bake contest, garage sales, casual for a cause, chili lunch fundraiser, donations from Café Connections, pizza Wednesday and the Snack Shack. All of these events are enjoyed by the staff and raise significant funds for the cause.
Departments work hard on these events in the few spare moments they have in between doing their jobs here with great dedication and skill. As you can see from all the creative and varied activities, we have an enthusiastic, generous and hard group of people at CP Nassau.
These events take a lot of coordination, dedication, and team work from each department and our Assistant Executive Director, Karen Geller Hittleman who spearheads this campaign with her Administrative Assistant Pauline Doherty, states, “I want to say again thank you for your generosity and your participation in Turkey and Trimmings!”
