As guests entered the main dining room for dinner and dancing, they were “greeted” by a host of celebrities (cardboard!) in keeping with the fun Broadway theme of the night! The evening commenced with CP Nassau Executive Director Bob McGuire addressing the group and speaking about all the good work that is done at the Agency. A video was shown featuring a piece of mobility equipment known as the UPSEE that is changing lives of students who participate in programs at CP Nassau. Creation, the talented singers from the Life Options program at CP Nassau treated the audience to a wonderful performance. Then the honorees were announced and recognized at the podium for all the good they have done for the Agency. Each honoree spoke from the heart about how pleased they have been to be associated with CP Nassau and that helping the Agency has been their honor and privilege. Bob McGuire thanked all the honorees on behalf of all at CP Nassau for the difference that their generosity and support has made in so many lives. He also thanked all the Chairpeople, Development staff, guests and journal advertisers and everyone who helped make the Ball so successful.
The spectacular band “Midlife Crisis” played incredible music that had everyone up dancing and enjoying themselves all night! Guests enjoyed a sumptuous dinner in a stunning room decorated with the most gorgeous autumn flower arrangements that you have ever seen! Fun photo favors featured a green screen and the choice of about 200 fun backgrounds that could have guests on Broadway, in Paris, on the field at Yankee Stadium, or in many other places around the world! Tables of amazing raffle prizes attracted sales all evening and later, when the prizes were announced, many happy people went home laden with their winnings. At the doors, Chateau Briand staff presented each guest with a little to go bag filled with bagels, butter, jam and juice to enjoy in the morning – a nice touch to end a very memorable evening.
