The 65th annual Forget Me Not Ball was a wonderful evening with impressive honorees, a beautiful setting at the Chateau Briand in Carle Place and dinner, dancing and festivities enjoyed by 250 guests.  The event chairpeople Karen Kiefel and Ralph Ventura thanked everyone in attendance for their support and commented that the Ball’s theme, “Committed to Making a Difference,” could not be more fitting when considering the honorees along with all who worked hard to make the event a success.  CP Nassau Executive Director Bob McGuire welcomed all to the Ballroom after a lovely cocktail hour and introduced guest speaker, Assemblywoman Melissa Miller from Atlantic Beach.  The Assemblywoman spoke from the heart about her experiences as a Mom of three.  She spoke of the great help and services provided by CP Nassau for two of her children with disabilities and vowed to continue to be a staunch advocate for individuals with disabilities and their families.  A video about the MOVE (Mobility Opportunities Via Education) curriculum at the Children’s Learning Center was shown and clearly touched the hearts and minds of all there.  A highlight of the evening was the introduction of the honorees and then hearing their inspirational words about their years of association and involvement with CP Nassau.

The honorees and the awards they received:

Fran Pierce

Leslie & Joel Greenberg
Harold Jay Greenberg Torch of Leadership Award

On behalf of all at CP Nassau, a huge thank you to the honorees, the Ball guests, the journal advertisers and Journal Chair, Joel Meltzer, and raffle prize donors.  A tremendous thank you to Karen Kiefel and Ralph Ventura and the Ball Committee and to Mary Brosky and the Development Department for their tireless work.  The band, MidLife Crisis was terrific and so was the staff at the Chateau Briand!  Heartfelt thanks to everyone who had a role in making the 65th annual Forget Me Not Ball so wonderful!  We hope everyone has 65 reasons to be glad they were a part of this wonderful evening!
