The 63rd annual Forget-Me-Not Ball to benefit the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County was held on Saturday, Nov. 7th and a wonderful evening was enjoyed by all! Congratulations to our terrific honoree, Victor Scotto, Jr. who works so hard on behalf of CP Nassau and other deserving organizations! Victor was presented with the “Harold Jay Greenberg Torch of Leadership Award” in recognition of his work as Co-Chair of the annual CP Nassau Taste & Toast the Town event, his fundraising efforts and for all his efforts to provide greater awareness of individuals with disabilities. It was wonderful that some of the Greenberg family was at the Ball to see this award, named for their Dad, bestowed to such a deserving individual. Joe Mandaro, Executive Director of Scotto Brothers, was recognized with the same award in 2004 for all his efforts on behalf of CP Nassau.
Victor has made a difference in his work to help CP Nassau carry out its mission of providing the highest quality services to the over 1,800 children and adults that the agency serves. Victor expressed thanks to his whole family and to all the staff at Scotto Brothers and in particular at the Chateau Briand. Bob McGuire, CP Nassau Executive Director thanked Victor on behalf of all at CP Nassau and also spoke of the gratitude the agency has for the Scotto Brothers organization.
The Chateau Briand was beautiful, the food delicious and the staff worked extremely hard and made the evening very special for everyone. Creation, CP Nassau’s singers were amazing! It was fun to have Donna Drake from the CBS segment “Live it Up” doing “red carpet” interviews as guests arrived! The CP Nassau is so grateful to everyone who generously supported the Ball!
There were fun raffles including a Jaguar Rental for a weekend, luxury handbags and jewelry, Oheka Castle stays, his and her bicycles, golf, dining and theater packages and more.
Creation, the talented singers from CP Nassau were terrific and merited standing ovations from the crowd! Mary Brosky, CP Nassau’s Development Manager and Coordinator of the Forget-Me-Not Ball worked hard to make the event great and topped it all off with an amazing solo rendition of “At last” to a thrilled crowd.
The CP Nassau is grateful to the event Chairman, Tony Galano Jr. and the Journal Chairman, Joel Meltzer and to all the Committee members who worked to make the Ball so enjoyable and successful.
