About 150 people attended the 23rd annual Sugar Plum Ball at the beautiful Chateau Briand in Carle Place on December 9th, 2018. Each young lady was greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy who presented her with a pretty wrist corsage. CP Nassau Executive Director, Bob McGuire welcomed everyone and thanked them for their support and invited all to experience a demonstration of a special program called MOVE (Movement Opportunities Via Education) that is changing the lives of students at the Children’s Learning Center at CP Nassau.
The girls and their Dads and Grandpas danced together to everyone’s delight and enjoyed an excerpt of the Nutcracker ballet performed so beautifully by the troupe from Leggz Ltd. Dance of Rockville Centre. A delicious meal was served for all then it was back to the dance floor for all the latest moves and fun games organized by DJ Mike from All Star Party LI, followed by a magic show filled with tricks and laughs. News 12 was on hand to cover the fun! We were happy to have ChromaBooth there to take lots of great photo cards to remember the day. Snow Globes were available through the Main Event and Caricatures were being done by the Creativity Zone. Lots of wonderful prizes were raffled off to lucky winners! This magical day ended all too soon as each girl left with a goodie bag that included a gorgeous heart bracelet compliments of Old Mill Nurseries, a tiara compliments of GirlsDressLine NYC and Sugar Plum Nail polish compliments of Color Club! Thank you to all who attended and to our sponsors, James C. Herrmann & Associates, Old Mill Nurseries, NEFCU, LI Speech Services of Long Island, Leggz Ltd. Dance, City & County Paving and the McGuire and Curreri Families. We also thank our event volunteers and the staff at the Chateau Briand. Mark your calendars for next year’s event to be held on Sunday, December 15th!
