Thank you to everyone who participated in today’s virtual rally to Save our Services (SOS).  One thousand people were on the Zoom session!  More wanted to sign on but the session maxed out!!!

The event was organized by family groups, including NYC Family Advocacy Information Resource & LI Advocacy Network for the Developmentally Disabled , ENYDDA, NYADD and NYC Developmental Disabilities (DD) Councils: Brooklyn, Bronx, Manhattan, Queens and Staten Island.

Speakers included Legislators, Participants, Direct Support Professionals, Family Members and other staff: all did a great job making a case for the vital importance of this issue!

If you missed the session it was recorded and we will post the link.

There was significant encouragement to keep the momentum going; to continue the fight! There will be many more opportunity to tell Governor Cuomo to restore the cuts and support our individuals.

The “To Do” for today, tomorrow and every day after that is to blast the Governor with the message that he MUST SAVE OUR SERVICES!

To quote Assemblywoman Missy Miller:  The Developmental and Intellectual disabilities population must be made a PRIORITY!
