On October 25th, the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra performed the 12th annual concert to benefit the United Cerebral palsy Association of Nassau County, Inc. Joe Piscopo of “Saturday Night Live” fame was the guest performer in a salute to 100 Years of Sinatra. Creation, ucpn’s own talented singers also sang and received standing ovations from the audience. Yong dancers from Carolyn’s Dance Center in Plainview also added to the fun and joy of the event. It was a terrific day and we are grateful to the Nassau Pops and NEFCU, (Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union) the concert sponsor!

Karen Geller -Hittleman, the Assistant Executive Director at ucpn, spoke to the audience at the Tilles Center about the challenges that ucpn faces with regard to funding and support for sheltered workshops, transportation needs and residential needs for individuals with disabilities. A video about 120 individuals at ucpn who lost their paying jobs at due to mandated changes by government officials was shown and the audience was definitely interested and moved.
A very happy group of ucpn family – program participants, family members, auxiliary members, ucpn staff and friends all thoroughly enjoyed the Nassau Pops and Joe Piscopo in concert at the Tilles Center!
