FAMILY MEMBERS, STAFF, PEOPLE WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES
COME AND RALLY!!!!!!

As you may already know, Governor Cuomo has proposed a $15 minimum wage for all. He has failed, however, to put funding in the 2016 budget to support this increase for Direct Support Professionals, special education staff and other low wage workers whose rate is set by the State.

The Alliance is organizing a Rally for Friday, March 11th at the Perry P. Duryea State Office Building.

Please join us for this event. It is our opportunity to tell the Governor and our Legislators that they MUST fund any minimum wage increase in their final budget agreement!

Funding this is critical to the health, safety and well-being of people with developmental disabilities and it’s the right thing to do for the people who work tirelessly caring for them.

In addition, staff who have supported people with disabilities for many years and are close to or at the $15.00 minimum wage also deserve an increase.

In 2014 Long Island held the LARGEST rally of any held throughout the state to fight for the restoration of the $90 million cut!.  Let’s do it again!
