COUNCIL OF AUXILIARIES

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Dear Friends,

The beautiful fall season is upon us, and we are already geared up for a full and fun season.

First up was a Comedy Night held at Governor’s in Levittown sponsored by the Merrick Auxiliary.  There were laughs, lovely raffle baskets and a 50/50 cash prize.  In October, Merrick also held a Pasta Dinner with entertainment by singer Sal Manzo at Gino’s of Bellmore.  Standards and Italian favorites made for an enjoyable time.  The North Valley Stream Auxiliary was busy too.  They held their annual Fashion Show and Membership Dinner at Verdi’s of Westbury.  Guests were treated to fashions by Alta Moda and Tsontas Furs plus an appearance by Rossella Rago, author of Cooking with Nonna.

Fast forward to Thanksgiving weekend, November 24, 25 and 26, and plan on attending the Annual Festival of Trees at the Cradle of Aviation.  This event is always a fun time for the entire family.

On Friday, December 8, Council is holding its Holiday Luncheon and Boutique Sale at Milleridge Inn Cottage.  The new owners have generously held the cost for this event for us while improving on the venue.

We ask for your continued support by attending auxiliary and council functions and by your donations.  Remember, 100% of every dollar raised goes directly to CP Nassau.

Sincerely yours in CP,

Mary Lou Zizzo

Member Reflections

Reflections of members experiences…..

Senior Reflection – Iris
“Expand your social life by opening your opportunity to enjoy the camaraderie of new friends. I believe keeping active both mentally and physically enables me to live a happier and healthier life while contributing to the needs of others. I have enjoyed a tremendous sense of accomplishment while participating in a meaningful activity.”

Junior League Reflection – Monica
“As a mother of young children, I want the very best for them. I hope and pray every day they will reach their full potential. I think every child should be given that opportunity. Being involved with CP Nassau and the Center in Roosevelt is my way of making it possible for those with developmental disabilities to achieve that goal.”

Teens for CP Reflection – Ariella
“I am so fortunate to have been involved with this program at such a young age. The opportunity to work one-on-one as a “buddy” with young people who have physical challenges in a host of sport activities such as Buddy Baseball, Buddy Bowling will never grow old for me. I, along with many other teens, look forward to every event. I can’t help but feel good inside because I know how much my buddies enjoy these activities. My involvement shaped who I am and makes me appreciate life more fully.”
