As you know, we cancelled our 13th Annual Polar Bear Plunge due to extreme winds at Theodore Roosevelt Beach in Oyster Bay.  The wind gusts were so severe there was potential for our tents to become unstable, representing a hazard to our guests and participants.  Safety is always our number one priority.

We are grateful for all the support and donations we received for this event.  Ninety cents of every dollar raised goes directly to the programs and services we offer to the approximately 1,500 children and adults with disabilities we serve.  We will gladly accept donations raised for the Plunge that you were not able to submit on March 12th.  Checks can be mailed to my attention at: CP Nassau, 380 Washington Avenue, Roosevelt, NY 11575.  If you have submitted donations that reached incentive levels, be assured that you will receive the shirt, hat or sweatshirt you earned.  As a result of the Plunge cancellation, if you wish to have your donation returned, please email me at mbrosky@cpnassau.org.

Unfortunately, due to logistics, we are unable to reschedule for this year.  We thank you for your willingness to take the plunge on behalf of CP Nassau!  We salute your bravery and dedication to our cause.  We truly hope that you will consider joining us next year for our 14th Annual Polar Bear Plunge.

Sincerely,

Mary Brosky
